Performs ultrasound examinations including duplex ultrasonography for venous examinations under the direction of Radiologist. Utilizing independent judgement and rendering films to interpreting radiologist.
Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Allied Heatlh Professions. ARDMS or eligible, BLS certification as per requirements for Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. In addition, must demonstrate competency in duplex ultrasonography for both lower and upper extremities and be working in this field of interest. Must be registered in at least one speciality area within first year of employment.
Experience in abdominal, OB/GYN, Doppler and Colorflow Ultrasound. Experience in duplex ultrasonography for venous examinations for both lower and upper extremities. Knowledgeable in the use of mechanical sector, Linear Array, Transvaginal Transducers as well of deep vein duplex sonography. Experienced in the use of laser and paper printers. Familiarity with X-O-Mat Processors and teleradiology system.
