SAP Concur is a pioneer in the travel and expense industry. The Receipts team sits at the center of the receipt processing within SAP Concur. The core mission on the Receipts team is to build a highly scalable platform to ingest, store and consume receipts flowing into SAP Concur.

The right candidate will possess proven software engineering skills, with experience creating and launching large distributed systems with the help of a team. You are expected to be versatile, able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and eager to mentor junior engineers. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to success in this role. You are data-driven and analytical. You can clearly & effectively communicate (written as well as verbally) across organizations and up to senior leadership.

In the first 12 months you will:

• Lead: Everyone must be constantly learning and must be constantly teaching others on the team. This can come in the form of code reviews, one on one pairing sessions, group teaching sessions, and more.
• Ship: (several iterations, in fact). The most import thing that our team can do for the company is to ship production software. Aside from adding direct value to our customers, it is also the ultimate validation of our efforts.
• Mentorship: We’re committed to the growth and development of every Receipts team member. You will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers. You will engage with the broader Concur Developer community to improve processes and help drive the long term vision of the Receipts team.
• Learn: Development of a deep understanding of the existing architecture at Concur, and of the architectural challenges facing the organization. We move fast and are unafraid to venture into the unknown if it can improve our software or the way in which we deliver that software. As a result, we are constantly learning new technologies and new approaches.

What do you need to bring?

• BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent years of work experience
• 7 years of experience delivering successful software development projects
• 5 years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C , or C# including object-oriented design
• 2 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience deploying applications (across multiple versions) to a public cloud platform such as AWS. Proficiency with AWS, container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes is highly desirable.
