PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Our Communications Teams are charged with protecting and enhancing the reputation of SAP among internal and external audiences. Teams develop strategic messaging and corporate content, engaging vital audiences in dialogue to advance SAP’s position as the market leader in enterprise application software. The Global Public Relations team mines for stories that will be of interest to major business and finance media outlets as well as leading and emerging technology publications. This includes a wide variety of topics covering many pillars of the global economy and public interest.

The key areas of responsibility of the Global Public Relations function are:

· Developing and pitching the right media formats and content to drive coverage of SAP

· Engaging and building strong relationships with relevant media and reporters

· Maintaining a story pipeline that strengthens SAP’s profile with regard to business strategy, innovation and thought leadership

· Developing new media formats and engagement models with key editors to help drive share of voice and favorability

· Developing and executing annual media relations plans

· Channeling feedback from media and analysis into the communications planning process

· Collaborating with colleagues across the company to ensure holistic, impactful messaging across diverse platforms, including using data to drive decision-making

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

· At least 5 years of experience in corporate communications or journalism with a strong external network among the outlets we target on the US west coast

· Project management competence

· Excellent writing skills

· An abhorrence of jargon

· Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics in clear language

· Solid understanding of SAP software and services - or the ability to learn quickly

· Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work across teams

· Stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels

· Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions and deliver under pressure

· A proven track record of successfully leading complex communications projects

ABOUT THE TEAM:

As a member of the Global Public Relations team based on the west coast of the United States, you will cultivate and maintain relationships with media to strengthen SAP’s media coverage. You will work together with Global Public Relations colleagues across the US and Germany and with communications and other colleagues throughout the company worldwide.
