The Privacy Analyst contributes to the success of SAP Concur’s privacy program by identifying, assessing, and working to reduce privacy risks as part of a comprehensive and growing privacy program. You will be called on to create, refine, communicate, and implement privacy policies, standards, and procedures, representing the Privacy Program throughout the public sector organization.

The Role:

  • Create and implement appropriate policies and procedures,
  • Enable consistent, effective data privacy practices while minimizing privacy risk and ensuring the confidentiality of private client and colleague data
  • Work cross functionally with peer teams and leaders to align programs to current strategy between security, business technology, and compliance functions
  • Administer organizational approach to privacy matters involving technology systems, process, and data,
  • Ensure organizational compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and policy development
  • Provide and facilitate training regarding regulations and may assist with audit findings

Day to day work includes but is not limited to:

  • Escalate incidents related to the breach of PII to Senior Privacy Analyst
  • Facilitate user awareness activities focusing on Privacy (ie. Respond to questions in Privacy queue)
  • Act as focal point for process, communication with clients, and management
  • Work with internal teams to provide guidance in relation to privacy/security
  • Contributing to and preparing briefings for business, management, technology, operational initiatives

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance issues arising out of data privacy, data protection, cybercrime, and/or information technology
  • Understanding of internal controls, risk assessments, business processes, IT control testing and audit fieldwork
  • Ability to analyze, conceptualize and organize to identify privacy requirements, and present potential solutions
  • Experience in privacy/security review of internal systems and tools
  • Proficiency in incident management – escalation to closure
  • Familiarity with domestic and international privacy regulations
  • Working knowledge of current privacy laws and strong willingness to learn and develop in the face of an uncertain and rapidly evolving industry and legal climate.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and client relationship management (CRM) programs.
  • Experience with assessing and functionality of NIST SP 800-53

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in information security, cybersecurity, public policy, or data science
  • CIPP-E, CIPP-US and/or CIPM Certification(s)
  • 2 years of experience in Privacy related to the interpretation and application of the Privacy Act of 1974, the E-Govt Act of 2002, GDPR, CCPA and other framework guidance
  • 2 years’ work experience in privacy, public policy, compliance, information technology or related field. 
  • 2 years risk/risk mitigation/risk assessment
  • Active Public Trust clearance required. (Please note: one of the requirements of this Clearance is that the individual be a US citizen.) If chosen candidate does not have an active clearance, the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
