As part of SAP Ariba’s core business unit and Cloud Operations, works with an experienced operations team in bringing the “Ariba Commerce Cloud” to the next level. The Cloud Engineering services team is responsible for delivering $170B in annual business commerce to thousands of Ariba global enterprise customers and suppliers in a 24X7 environment.

The Cloud Engineering services team is looking for a Development manager to help in building next-gen cloud infrastructure on public cloud and bare metal environments. About the Team

We are the Network Engineering team part of Cloud Engineering services supporting Ariba product infrastructure. We provide Network infrastructure, best practices and technologies for application teams to build and run software in the cloud. You will be responsible to establish and grow a team of engineers who work within the global Infrastructure and platform team as well as leverage strong local presence of other departments that will aid in our success.

The Role

• Lead a Network Engineering team. Because we work on the cutting edge, we need someone who is eager to learn, result-oriented, resourceful in getting things to work and productive working independently or collaboratively.

• Be accountable for the quality, experience, readiness and timely delivery of all features produced by your team.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of sound Network and Security engineering principles and best practices for implementation and supporting it. Be capable of driving projects end to end.
• Enable quality excellence within product units through test techniques, process, frameworks and automation.
• Manage the lifecycle of employees – e.g. recruiting/retaining, developing/guiding/motivating, managing performance
• Work closely/collaborate across roles, functions and teams, as well as with colleagues in other countries and also customers/partners when needed.
• Understand and play an active role in all aspects of the development process for both new and existing functionality.
• Stay current on technology and understand how it may fit into or advance our strategic direction

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in Computer Science (or related subject)
• Excellent people management skills, strong dedication to people development and mentoring
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills and a high degree of personal initiative
• Ability to encourage innovation and foster a high-energy and focused environment
• Identify and define a targeted audience strategy and a messaging approach
• Create an environment of continuous learning and improvement, where people actively seek to coach and help with team and peer development

Work Experience

• 5 years of work experience as a manager in Network Engineering/ network Infrastructure is a plus
• Prior experience in delivering cloud software is strongly desired
• Prior experience with Cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or GCP, hybrid model is strongly desired
• Excellent communication skills in English
• 10 years of experience with Networking technologies and networking products such Cisco, Cisco ACI, F5, Palo Alto, VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, RSTP
