- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
- Provide customers with the correct products ordered and the correct quantity & size (or as close as possible to the amount ordered) to prevent shrinkage.
- Inform customers of Meat specials & sales
- Check product quality to ensure freshness. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are updated daily.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School or GED Graduate, education is a must
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Adhere to temperature controlled environment
- Adhere to all safety, health, weights, and measures regulations
- High standard of integrity and reliability
- Flexible work schedule & availability
- Previous Job Experience: Meat / Retail experience Preferred
