Santa Monica Seafood Company is a leader in wholesale seafood distribution to the foodservice industry has an opening for a Packer. This position will consist of comparing identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records .Packs and verifies weight on outgoing shipments. Performs warehouse work related to product pickers, cutting , packing and processing. Receives and unload incoming fresh product.

This is normally a Sunday Thursday position. Hours will vary depending on Company need. This is a Full-time position with competitive pay DOE, and competitive benefit package to include: 401(k), Paid Vacation Time, Paid Sick Time, Paid Personal Days, Health, Life and Dental

This position is generally 5 days a week with a schedule of Sunday through Thursday. Working weekends, holidays, and starting at various start and ending times are required in order to successfully meet customers’ needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspects fresh product returns and ensures proper handling.

• Pulls and packs product based on daily orders.

• Meets specifics of customer orders in a timely manner.

• Keeps products separated, organized and in good rotation.

• Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate safety issues.

• Reports any mechanical problems.

• Utilizes continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

• Follows good manufacturing practices and required work safe practices.

• Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.

• Responsible for ensuring adherence to Federal and State safety regulations.

• Ensures organization and cleanliness of fresh area. At the end of each shift, verifies that Fresh area is swept, washed down and organized. Ensures that all equipment is clean and stored properly.

• Ensures that all products are returned to cooler, iced and rotated properly at the end of the shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour
