Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate High School English or Social Studies Teacher to join our Alpha team. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, creative, and dedicated to fostering a student-centered learning environment for alternative students. They will utilize an online credit recovery curriculum while teaching classes to support student growth and achievement while actively embracing and contributing to the school's culture and community.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in curriculum review and design.
2. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated and supported in their academic and personal growth.
3. Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
4. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
5. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
6. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
7. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
8. Refer student for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Services).
9. Effectively implement school and district initiatives.
10. Integrate technology and multimedia resources effectively into lessons to enhance learning experiences and promote digital literacy skills.
11. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and skill development.
12. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and foster a collaborative partnership in student success.
13. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in specific subject education and pedagogy.
14. Actively contribute to the school community by participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and committees.
15. Embrace and promote the school's and district's mission, values, and culture both within the classroom and the broader school community.

Other Job Functions:

2. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
5. Serve on committees as assigned.
6. Remain current on instructional practices in education.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Previous experience teaching high school English or Social Studies.
3. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
5. Creative and innovative approach to curriculum design and instructional delivery.
6. Proficiency in using data to inform instruction and track student progress.
7. Commitment to fostering a student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
8. Knowledge of current educational technology tools and their application in the classroom.
9. Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset towards professional development and continuous improvement.
