Facilities Technician
Santa Fe Animal Shelter (SFAS) is looking for a candidate to grow our Facilities Team. SFAS is Northern New Mexico’s largest open admission and no kill shelter that serves Santa Fe City and County. The Facilities team is responsible for upkeep and repairs of our fleet, buildings, and grounds so all of the other teams can meet the needs of the animals in our care. Our main campus is on 100 acres on Caja Del Rio just off of 599, and has 4 main buildings. We also have two buildings in town. Within our services we have offices, 3 medical facilities, storage units, kennels, even an apartment for visiting staff. It’s never the same day twice and there is always a new challenge to figure out or fix. One thing you will never be at the shelter is bored. And if you manage to defy all expectations and get bored you can always take a break walking one of our dogs or playing with our cats.
We are looking for someone with a solid background in the trades, and with this many buildings specialists are encouraged to apply as well. Training will be provided for the right candidate, so mechanically inclined and capable people might be the right fit for us if you have the desire to gain skills and experience. This is a full time position and the salary is competitive and dependent on experience and skills at the time of hire.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
