Purpose:
The Department of Education at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic institution, seeks to hire an Academic Year Adjunct Lecturer (AYAL)/Coordinator in its Education Leadership program, supporting leadership development specifically in the area of inclusive education. The responsibilities of the AYAL position will be a minimum of 5 courses.
Salary
Salary range is based on courses taught per year and courses previously taught. The starting per course rate (3-unit equivalent) is $10,066.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (PhD, EdD, or similar degree preferred, MA considered) in school administration, education, and/or educational leadership
Five years of leadership experience in a school setting
Three or more years of leadership in the areas of special education and inclusive education, broadly. In particular, we are seeking a candidate who will support curriculum growth for area leaders as they seek to deepen and expand their efforts in inclusive education, and to support our teacher education faculty as they deepen their new dual credential model in teacher education.
Experience teaching in a higher education setting, preferably at the graduate level
Commitment to social justice and equity education
Responsibilities
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Teaching:
Teach multiple courses in either the Masters and Doctoral programs. The successful candidate should be able to teach a variety of leadership and administrative focused courses for school leadership students.
Administrative Service:
The position may also be able to assist the department by leading various programs for both degree and non-degree seeking students. This administrative service would be compensated through course release time. Administrative service might include:
Support of teacher education faculty development in the area of inclusive education
Enhance school leader development and support regarding inclusive education
Support external outreach regarding inclusive education to area districts to grow our reputation in this area.

Advise students as requested
