Job Details

Region: Des Moines IA Reporting To: Senior Project Managers Job description Salary: Very Competitive Bonus: Annual Bonus Job Type: Full-Time
Responsible For: Estimating residential homes, multifamily projects & land developments. This
individual will be performing the necessary general duties in collaboration with our construction team
and reporting to Senior Project Management.
Job Purpose: To assist Senior Project Managers in commencing new projects, bid letting, estimating,
and contracting with subcontractors / vendors in a timely and accurate manner.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Individual must be self-motivated and a local construction methods.
2. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract requirements to prepare accurate estimates for single
family, townhomes, and multifamily projects.
3. Utilize estimating software for bid letting, budgeting, awarding contracts, completing contracts, etc.
4. Coordinate with civil engineering, architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, etc. as
needed.
5. Procure and negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendor in expediting estimates and proposals.
6. Preparing appropriate company estimates and proposals.
7. Has the skill set to bid projects based on conceptual plans.
8. Report project revisions, progress budgets and its periodic revisions with senior management.
9. Identify and resolve all project revision or changes.
10. Establishing and maintaining all project files relating to: engineering, subcontracts, bid package
records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built documents.
11. Reviewing all vendor schedules of values and preparing the general schedule of values
12. Evaluating subcontractor payment requisitions relative to actual work performed.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Must be able to work in a professional manner and able to work well with others. Must be able to properly
communicate over the phone and in writing to upper management to include Subcontractors, Suppliers,
Onsite Staff, Owners, other PM s, and Supervisors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree, Degree in Construction Management or comparable.
3 years of experience in related field.
Has a comprehensive knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules,
regulations, and quality standards.
Has ample knowledge about means, methods, and materials used in residential and multi-family
construction to determine the most cost-effective type of construction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
Excellent plan and specification reading skills.
Well-developed organizational skills.
Honest, Dependable and Good interpersonal skills.
Good driving record, valid license - insurable through the company.
Preferred:
Experience in residential & multifamily construction estimating.
Experience in Sage Project Management preferred.
Experience in AutoCAD preferred.
