SanStone Health & Rehabilitation is Hiring a Maintenance Director Near Charlotte, NC

This position/person will assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of supervising and carrying out the maintenance tasks for 100 bed Skilled Nursing Facility Charlotte, NC.

Handle the day-to-day maintenance functions of the department and supervise one Full Time assistant within the maintenance department. Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly services in coordination with the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing. Submit/complete necessary reports, forms, etc...

Coordinate and oversee any outside vendors/contracted staff as necessary and as agreed upon with the VP of Operations and/or the Administrator. Assign and manage ID codes and passwords to facility secured doors; implement recommendations from the Infection Control, Safety or QA committees as necessary; attend department and staff meetings as directed; assist in the orientation and training process of new hires and maintenance staff as necessary; interpret department policies and procedures; assign maintenance personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and supervise personnel to ensure tasks are performed and completed per manufacturers guidelines and/or department standards.

Attend and participate in annual facility in-service trainings as scheduled -OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Life Safety, etc...Assist in maintaining SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for hazardous chemicals throughout facility; Ensure work areas throughout facility are maintained in a safe and attractive manner; conduct daily and routine inspections of assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained; recommend equipment and supply needs to the Administrator;

Review concerns and grievances of department personnel and make corrections or recommendations/reports to the director as necessary.

Working Conditions include but not limited to:

works throughout the facility (i.e power rooms, resident rooms, therapy rooms, dietary, nursing, etc...); move intermittently during working hours; subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities; be involved with residents and personnel and visitors, government agencies/personnel under all conditions and circumstances; interacts with residents, family members, personnel and visitors; may work beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays; may called back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.); is subject to exposure infectious waste, disease, conditions, etc...(TB, AIDS and Hep B viruses);

Education: must possess a minimum of a high school education or equivalent;

Experience: maintenance department in a health-related setting preferred; must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures of the Maintenance Department.
