Engineering Technician 3

Job Purpose:

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. Can train assemblers or other technicians. Supports Operations with engineering related activities such as new business introduction, test setup and support, software imaging, documentation creation and updates, training technicians and any other necessary tasks delegated by the supervising Engineer.

Nature of Duties:

• Provide technical support and assist in resolution of Operational problems as required.
• Train repair technicians on processes and procedures related to activities.
• Create user documentation including how-to guides such as SOP’s and Work instructions.
• Gather information on the subject from the end user and write clear and concise procedures.
• Review Engineering Change Orders and update documents accordingly including submit the document in Agile for final approval and release.
• Meet customer’s time and cost deadlines as well as the internal schedules.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform tasks as necessary.
• Ability to work independently, resolve technical issues without detailed direction.
• Capability to work on multiple projects accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with staff members in other departments as needed
• Travel 10%

Education and experience:

• An associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other Engineering discipline required. 3-5 years experience in the field will also be considered.

• Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills working in a cross-functional, regulated environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of relevant manufacturing/repair processes preferred.
• Must have effective communication skills with all personnel levels
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Google software products
• Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma Processes
• Self-driven individual
