Quality Training Specialist

Job Purpose:

Sanmina is looking for an ambitious person to fill a Training Specialist position in our Quality Department to support our electronic and medical manufacturing operations in Carrollton, TX.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assures the plant quality procedures are aligned with Corporate and Medical Division procedures
  • Develops training courses to QMS Standard Operating Procedures and coordinates on-the-job-training with department managers
  • Assesses trainees’ job knowledge and performance (needs assessment) to determine what training is required
  • Provides instruction on proper manufacturing methods including, but not limited to product handling, assembly, machine operations, inspection, SPC data entry and first level response to results obtained, and administrative procedures
  • Works one-on-one or in small groups with assigned employees, observing their on-the-job performance and providing constructive feedback as appropriate
  • Explains to new hires key plant procedures such as Quality and Environmental Policies, Nonconforming Material Control, handling Customer Returns, Good Documentation Practices, Quality Records, ESD & Calibration and how these procedures affect their roles
  • Facilitates annual plant wide training sessions for subject matter such as ESD Control, U.S. FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR) , ISO regulations, the Quality Policy and Quality Manual
  • Explains to new hires how to read and interpret Work Instructions, fill in forms, identify the critical to quality key requirements and reaction plans
  • Assesses training effectiveness through reduced errors and improved production times
  • Recognizes discrepancies in documentation or problems with quality, product or process, and recommends changes to Quality Supervisor and Engineers
  • Conducts product inspection, documenting as required, according to specific procedures
  • May assist in conducting process audits in manufacturing
  • Supports other company requirements when necessary
  • Maintains employee training records and provides regular reporting to interested parties as required

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing required
  • Experience with medical electronic manufacturing required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions
  • Ability to develop training courses from needs assessments
  • Able to effectively convey technical concepts to non technical personnel
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office/Google Suite
  • Familiarity working with computer databases preferred
  • Has willingness to learn, takes initiative, and offers improvement ideas
  • Able to work under indirect supervision and following established practices and policies
  • Able to work overtime and weekends when needed

Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office and a manufacturing environment. Required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; repetitive motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally may need to exert up to 30 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects.
