Sanmina Corporation is Hiring a Quality Technician - (83970) Near Costa Mesa, CA

Quality Technician 

JOB PURPOSE:

The Quality Technician provides technical assistance to Quality Engineers and / or Quality Management in resolving product quality issues.

NATURE OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes QC testing and inspection methods to improve accuracy of quality data.
  • Performs standard data analysis and reporting.
  • Documents quality trends and issues.
  • Assists Quality Engineers with Return Materials administration.
  • Coordinates with Quality Engineer and / or Quality management to review and obtain assignments. 
  • Coordinates required outgoing artifacts for External Laboratory testing and evaluation.
  • Coordinates and logs scheduled Source Inspection (on site 3rd party).
  • Supports Quality Engineers with internal laboratory analysis that may be required to resolve product issues, or RMA product issues.
  • Responds to quality/inspection problems (excessive defects, testing equipment problems, etc.).
  • Consults with Inspectors, Process Engineers, Production Supervisors, and other QC personnel to identify the course of the problem.
  • Observes and monitors process to analyze potential causes of the problem. May perform tests and studies to further isolate the cause. 
  • Proposes and documents corrective actions to prevent identified problems from reoccurring. Recommends alternative solutions that consider realistic Manufacturing constraints.
  • Documents Quality parameters and control methods including testing and inspection procedures. Continually updates documentation to reflect new capabilities and procedures. 
  • May maintain and analyze Quality databases to identify trends and issues. Utilizes PC bases systems to generate standard and ad-hoc reports. Performs limited data entry. May prepare documentation for presentations to customers.
  • Coordinates with Production management and QC personnel to discuss quality compliance issues. Produces written quality alerts for concerned parties. 
  • May audit process parameters per an established schedule, summarizes and communicates potential problem areas to Process Engineers and/or Manufacturing management.
  • Follows SANMINA's safety rules; utilizes protective clothing (eye protection) and equipment, reports safety hazards and incidents to management. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree/2 year Technical Degree 
  • Good understanding of PWB technologies, manufacturing processes, and common quality issues.
  • 2-4 years of related PCB experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze casual relationship of defects and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Ability to identify and analyze trends and exceptions in quality data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce professional written reports and process documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of inspection methods including sampling plans and testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret product specifications. 
  • Preferred previous experience in inspection / auditing / laboratory testing of printed circuit boards or equivalent production / inspection experience.

Salary Range(annual): $47840-60000
