We are currently recruiting highly qualified candidates, whose background and career goals meet our needs, for the following position in our Huntsville, AL facility. Please note that due to our Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
Position Title: Quality Control Systems Manager
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Control Manager is responsible for the following:
-Manage quality inspection teams throughout the SCI quality department. -Management of the QC Inspectors/teams throughout the company. Quality Control Manager is required to establish QC Leads for each area within the facility to monitor, develop, train, and report daily activities as well as directed activities to management. The manager will support, monitor, and drive quality within the QC group. This manager will identify weaknesses within the various QC groups and establish training programs tailored to aiding in resolving these weaknesses. This position will drive accountability within the group while establishing a strong, positive, and driven team.
-Management of SCI metrology lab -This position will manage personnel and equipment within this area. Direct continued development of the metrology department. The manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong metrology lab, while monitoring workloads and department needs.
-Management of the receiving inspection department- Manages all Receiving inspection activities. Quality Control Manager manages an area supervisor within RI to monitor, develop, train, and report daily activities as well as direct activities to management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the Quality Inspection Team, is responsible for staffing decisions and performance management/reporting of staff ensuring objectives are met
2. Manage the metrology department Team, is responsible for staffing decisions and performance management/reporting of staff ensuring objectives are met
3. Drive lean six sigma initiatives, RCCA, and lean within the groups managed
4. Monitor, track, and report to director KPI and key quality metrics
5. Support and drive continuous improvement efforts.
6. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's degree, technical disciplines preferred. Technical trade school graduates with significant experience are also considered.
2. Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a high mix / low volume manufacturing environment.
3. Quality Engineering experience in an AS9100 Company preferred
4. Working knowledge of problem solving/root cause analysis (RCCA) and process improvement.
5. Capability to lead a continuous improvement culture.
6. Ability to manage departmental budgets and goals
7. Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
