Job Overview:

Sanford Federal is looking to hire a qualified Registered Nurse to provide general nursing services and medical emergency services to students, staff, and faculty. Services are needed to address COVID related symptoms, provide temperature readings, triage, and referrals for other medical issues residing at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI), located in 9169 Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Details:

· Job Title: Registered Nurse

· Locations: Project activities will occur primarily at the Student Success Center, Bldg. 101 on Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute’s campus in 9169 Coors Blvd NW Albuquerque, New Mexico, as deemed appropriate or necessary.

· Schedule:

• School Hours of Operation: 10 am to 2 pm.
• The contractor is expected to work five (5) days a week for an estimated period of 4 hours per day.
• The actual work schedule will be provided upon starting.

Requirements & Skills:

Must have sufficient professional knowledge, skill, and experience in Nursing Management.

Consultants Tasks and Responsibilities:

The principal tasks and responsibilities are:

A. Provide Medical Services on the SIPI Campus.

· Provide medical services to students on SIPI campus.

· Provide preventative health educational training.

· Provide medical expertise and triage to students and make appointments with students.

· Work closely with the Director of Student Affairs on recordkeeping to ensure compliance and privacy of student records.

· Due to the sensitivity of medical records, and privacy, the employee is designated as the keeper of record.

B. Services:

· General services include health plans, screening of immunization records, vision screening, stereo acuity, hearing testing, medical evaluation and training, height-weight.

· Additional services include educational health trainings to students on diabetes, birth control, drug awareness, breast cancer awareness and exams, blood borne pathogen education, first aid/CPR training, medication evaluation training and COVID awareness and training.

· COVID services will include COVID-19 testing and screening, referrals, and vaccinations if available.

· Services will include IEP evaluations for students with disabilities.

· Services include the establishment of wellness and health policies, updating state and federal health requirements in schools including COVID-19 and providing an annual health service report.

· Maintain implementation of student health records.

· Services include setting up an isolation room and supervision of health assistants.

· Provide services for student appointments and arrangement of student transportation, assist in finding funding for student health, and encourage parent participation.

· Services will include health fairs, drug awareness week, vaccine clinics and will have a notary on staff.
