Position: Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer

Location: Sanford, Florida

The Sanford Airport Authority manages and operates the Orlando Sanford International Airport, situated just north of Orlando, in the vibrant city of Sanford, Florida. The Airport has grown to become a pivotal transportation gateway, connecting people and businesses to various destinations. For the last several decades, management of the Airport terminal and other landside operations was outsourced to a third-party management company. The Airport Authority is in the process of transitioning the management of terminal and landside operation in-house and is seeking an individual with broad knowledge of airport financial matters to assist in this new dynamic.

Job Description:

The Sanford Airport Authority is currently seeking a Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO) to lead the Airport’s finance, procurement, and risk management operations. The VP/CFO will be responsible for providing leadership and advice to ensure the financial health of the organization, guiding the efficient utilization of resources, and contributing to the strategic direction of the airport. The VP/CFO will work closely with the executive team, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders to develop financial strategies, manage budgets, and provide financial leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute financial strategies to support the Airport's mission and goals.

- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

- Lead financial risk management and asset management efforts.

- Evaluate investment opportunities with the Authority’s Financial Advisor and recommend strategies for financial growth.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.

- Supervise a dedicated finance and procurement team, fostering professional growth and development.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).

- Proven experience as a financial executive, preferably in the aviation industry.

- Strong financial and strategic planning skills.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

- Proficiency in financial software and tools.

- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices.
