We are seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team!

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope, and leading a team in order to achieve this. The Geotechnical Project Manager will review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial & residential building mining and/or industrial sectors. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical reports (geotechnical reports/soils reports) to aid the structural design for various projects. 
  • Follow safety rules and standards for all projects. 
  • Engineering professional with responsibility for managing detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity.
  • Independently perform a variety projects or selected segments of larger projects.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
  • Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations, and modifications. 
  • Prepare proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
  • Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
  • Apply sound engineering principles and be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project team
  • Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
  • Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members. 
  • Interact directly with client and project team on developing scope of services, communicating project progress and findings and recommendations.
  • Write and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
  • Participate in marketing, sales, and business development. 
  • Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff.

Education/Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience.
  • Experience writing technical reports associated with soil mechanics. 
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or obtain PE within 1 year of hire date. 
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for work. 
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and overtime, as needed. 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods standing in industrial factory settings.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at a time over rough terrain.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work from heights, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and terrain.
