Purpose of this Job:
This role will focus on safely meeting the production requirements established ensuring the product meets proper quality specifications by using the production assembly equipment and quality control processes provided. The line lead will work directly with the Line supervisor and facility leadership communicating status and needs to improve operations.
Principle Duties/Essential Functions:
• Train and supervise production personnel on all aspects of production activities
• Monitor production, TPM, 5S activities to meet production and quality objectives
• Organize and control parts flow to multiple production lines
• Coordinate operations and conduct process audits to ensure procedures are being followed
Other Tasks/Responsibilities:
• Input production and quality data into production control system
• Reduce scrap and rejects generated by processes
• Understand and evaluate Assembly equipment output to make necessary offsets / adjustments
• Distribute tools and supplies to operators as needed
• Responsible for conducting head count during plant evacuations and ensure employees are in designated areas. Housekeeping including, sweeping, mopping, or floor scrubber machine on floor areas. Also wiping down machinery
• Coordinate data collection for validations, capability and gage R&R studies
• Implement work instruction #L3015 for proper Quarantine procedure when needed
• Make appropriate tool/ tool holder/fixture changes, alignment, and adjustments
• Inspect parts in accordance with inspection standards and complete inspection sheets, production OEE graphs, and SPC data input and scrap/reject reports
• Responsible for awareness and compliance with company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of the EHS policies and procedures by communicating and reporting unsafe conditions and/or non-compliances
Requirements
Education:
• High diploma or 2 years’ manufacturing work experience required
Interpersonal Skills:
• Demonstrated leadership experiences and results

• Excellent communication ability
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Mechanical aptitude
• TPM and 5S experience
• Demonstrated experience working in manufacturing with semi/automated production processes.
• Familiar with precision measurement equipment, calipers, micrometers, gauges, air micrometer, etc.
• Proficient with basic shop math
• Proficient in basic PC skills: Excel, Word, windows based operating systems
• Must possess advanced job knowledge of multiple production processes
• Proficient computer skills as applies to job. (BPIC system, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.)
• Working knowledge of IATF
• Working Knowledge of ISO-14001
Licenses or Certifications:
• N/A
Physical Demands:
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Extreme attention to safety
• Focused attention to determine part quality including 100% visual inspection
• Must be able to stand for 8-12 continuous hours
• Continuously move objects in a repetitive motion
• Work environment with high noise levels, oily floor, and exposure to coolant and metal chips
• Requires lifting ranging from a constant 10 - 25 lbs. to light pieces on a conveyor
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
• Employee must regularly wear safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection
• Other PPE may be required based on specific projects
• Fitted respirator may be needed when mixing piston coating material
Work Environment/Hours:
• Primary work area is production floor
• Must work shift hours plus provide support on evenings and weekend (as needed)
• Able to work overtime as required
