San Gabriel Clinic is Hiring a Front Office Medical Assistant Near San Gabriel, CA

Seeking a diligent, self-motivating, and personable front office medical assistant who is willing to learn and grow with the practice.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining referrals and authorizations
  • Verifying insurance eligibility for patients
  • Scheduling patient's appointment
  • Responding to inquiries from insurance companies and patients
  • Submitting prior authorizations for patient medications
  • Maintaining surgery schedule for physician(s)
  • Completing data entry of all patient demographics, guarantor, and insurance information
  • Working with billing staff to identify action plans to address billing errors that result from registration and eligibility activities
  • Handling fax distribution to include but not limited to: Urgent MD faxes, referrals, medical records and Rx refills
  • Help collect patient balances and post payments

Qualifications and skills:

  • Experience with medical insurance, including HMO and PPO plans
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems, including EHR and general principles of medical record documentation
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, office staff
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills
  • Empathetic of patient needs and concerns
  • Bilingual in Mandarin/Cantonese or Spanish

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
