SAN FERNANDO VALLEY COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER, INC. is Hiring a Staff Assistant I - EVYFC Near North Hollywood, CA

Assists in the Program Manager in the implementation, coordination, and continuing operations of the facility. JOB ID#0902A
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists Program Manager by providing leadership to clerical and volunteer staff.

Obtain initial information for all prospective clients and verifies insurance. Schedules intake appointments and creates/completes SRL on Exym.

Responsible for the administrative portions of all staff and volunteer orientations and coordinates this training with the Program Manager.

Monitors organization and flow of all client records, and reports problems to the Program Manager.

Maintains Client Census/Caseload Lists, Missing Document Reports, Productivity Reports, and Monthly Program Alert. Enters outcome measures electronically with DMH.

Coordinates all required personnel forms related to staff hires, transfer, promotions, and terminations.

Orders all office supplies.

Arranges for the upkeep of the physical plant (e.g., notifying the Program Coordinator of any problems and arranges for plumbing, maintenance requests, etc.) in conjunction with the Manager of Centerwide Services.

Monitors staff, volunteers, and interns with regard to compliance with Centerwide policies regarding administrative issues and reports problem areas to Program Manager.

Functions as Administrative and Safety Coordinator and attends Centerwide required meetings.

Oversees and coordinates appointments for medication appointments with facility psychiatrists.

Acts as backup to answer phones.

Coordinates and facilitates typing requests including medical correspondence.

Maintains and updates complete inventory of office furniture.

Performs special projects as requested.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or some college highly preferred.
Three (3) year’s clerical experience, two (2) years of which must be in a highly specialized or supervisory capacity, preferably in a mental health setting. 50-55wpm minimum; two years college preferred. Must pass Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
Valid California Driver’s License is required. Must meet guidelines of agency’s driving criteria (i.e. Proof of liability insurance, minimal moving violations, driving record free of DUI’s or reckless driving in the last 3 years, etc.) and maintain the criteria as per company policy at all times.
