Position Description
The successful Sr. Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) will be an employee champion and change agent in order to align HR strategy with business needs in their designated client groups. This role will work on problems that are diverse and complex in scope, use data to identify opportunities and solutions and can lead projects from conception to completion. The Sr. HRBP will be the backbone of employee relations, engagement and retention efforts and provide guidance and support to their client groups in the following Human Resources functions: Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Learning and Development, Communication, HRIS, Safety and much more.

Supervisory
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field; and five years progressive Human Resources Partner/employee relations experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working in a start-up environment and utilizing human resources information systems (ideally UKG) is preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish and/or English/Tagalog preferred.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply logical thinking to identify and explain problems, collect data and establish fact, and create a valid conclusion or resolution to problems. Ability to think big picture in order to assess and prevent possible negative outcomes.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
SPHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR and/or PHRca certification helpful.
Other Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Human Resources principles and regulations, strong MS Office skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.), ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner, excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate relationships and anticipate business needs. Experience creating resource material/toolkits and training staff on Human Resources policies and procedures. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet goals and deadlines. Must be highly detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee works in an office at a computer workstation and accesses information from a computer. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the Human Resources area, and will be required to leave the area and maneuver throughout the facility to meet with staff of assigned departments. The employee must occasionally move up to 15 pounds. May be required to act and move quickly throughout the facility in order to be physically present in addressing workplace incidents.

Offices for this position are located within the administrative office area on ground level across from Tides Café. The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate with noises originating from persons talking within the office and office equipment being operated. The employee is occasionally exposed to exhaust fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock for both indoors and outdoors environments. During the course of our business the employee will be exposed to large crowds and public settings. This position will require working outside regular hours to support client groups and meet business needs.
