San Bernardino County is Hiring a Training and Development Supervisor Near San Bernardino, CA

The Performance, Education, and Resource Centers (PERC) is recruiting for a Training and Development Supervisor who oversees daily operations of the County-wide training team, including leadership programs, professional development training, and customized services. Training and Development Supervisors consult and negotiate with County departments and other organizations regarding training and development services; manage projects from the Request for Proposal (RFP) through delivery and education of services; and identify and evaluate training and development goals, monitor and evaluate pricing and cost effectiveness of training and development services, recommend changes curriculum, frequency, staffing, pricing, format of other aspects of training programs and services to improve effectiveness.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam, prior to appointment. 

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

Note: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Candidates must meet one of the following two options:
OPTION 1: 
Education: Master’s degree or higher-level graduate degree in English, Education, Business/Public Administration, Liberal Arts, Communication, Organizational Development, Computer Science, Social/Behavioral Science, or Natural Science.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience (within the last five (5) years) as a professional trainer/educator of adult learners. (Note: Providing on-the-job training is not considered qualifying experience.)
OPTION 2:
Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Business/Public Administration, Liberal Arts, Communication, Organizational Development, Computer Science, Social/Behavioral Science, or Natural Science.
AND
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience (within the last five (5) years) as a professional trainer/educator of adult learners. (Note: Providing on-the-job training is not considered qualifying experience.)
Notes:
  • Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Providing on-the-job training is not considered qualifying experience. 
The ideal candidate will have organizational development experience which includes conducting organizational studies, developing training objectives, and developing interventions to organizational problems. This candidate will possess a strong background in project planning, delivering services in a support capacity, and presenting to executive and management staff.
There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on the information provided in the application and the Supplemental Questionnaire.
