Job Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide exceptional patient care. Your role will involve assisting with dental procedures, maintaining infection control protocols, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the dental office.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and record patient information in electronic health records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order as needed
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other dental practice management software
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical coding for insurance billing (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Current CPR certification
