Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, taking X-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Take and develop X-rays of patients' teeth
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Take impressions and make temporary crowns
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed
Skills:
- Proficiency in taking X-rays and developing dental radiographs
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Familiarity with medical coding and terminology
- Experience working with dental systems such as CAD or Epic is a plus
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
