Description:
Yavneh Hebrew Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Middle School Math Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, a commitment to student-centered learning, and a dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. The Middle School Math Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous math instruction to students in grades 7 and 8, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners. This individual will collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, assess student progress, and provide ongoing support to ensure student success in mathematics. Additionally, the Middle School Math Teacher will actively participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide initiatives to contribute to the overall growth and development of the school community.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver effective and differentiated math instruction to middle school students in accordance with established curriculum standards.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, critical thinking, and mathematical reasoning.
• Develop and implement a variety of instructional strategies, activities, and assessments to address the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
• Utilize technology and other resources to enhance math instruction and facilitate student learning and achievement.
• Monitor and assess student progress in mathematics through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop, evaluate, and revise math curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress, academic expectations, and other relevant matters.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth and development to stay current with best practices in math education and pedagogy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in middle school mathematics
• Strong knowledge of middle school math content and curriculum standards
• Demonstrated ability to effectively differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture
• Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development
