Description

Perform assigned preventive maintenance services on heating, ventilation and air-conditioning machinery and component parts.

Job Duties

• Inspect machinery in operation to assure proper functioning, including checking pressures and temperatures.
• Oil and grease machinery.
• Change filter media.
• Adjust and renew belts.
• Clean traps and strainers.
• Perform minor repairs, as required.
• Clean equipment used and equipment room.
• Assist in setting up preventive maintenance schedules.
• Complete summary schedules of work performed.
• Prepare inventory of equipment and attach labels to record relevant data.
• Perform other related duties as required within classification specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience as a mechanic.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must possess a current, valid driver's license.
• Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Must possess knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning machinery and components.
• Must have good judgement to make sound decisions.
• Must possess positive verbal and written communication skills when working alongside people.
• Must be able to performs tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
