The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing various HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, leave of absence and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Work experience demonstrating discernment and handling confidential matters as well as high attention to detail is desired. This position reports to the Chief of Human Resources Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES/LEADERSHIP PILLARS:

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Temporary Labor:
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and making job offers for temporary labor.
  • Coordinate temporary labor onboarding, including conducting ad-hoc orientation sessions and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Ensures temporary labor timecards are processed timely and up to date after file processing to vendors. Ensures data files are transmitted and working appropriately.
  • Ensures temporary labor invoices are processed timely.
  • Confirms temporary labor is removed from HR System upon completion of assignment.
  • Internal Transfers:
    • Reviews internal applications for eligibility to transfer and updates status in online application platform.
    • Handles internal transfer process in HR system ensure accuracy of position, evaluation dates, wage, wage dates, seniority, etc. after offer made by Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Reviews third-party job boards to ensure job-posting accuracy and compliance.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Answer questions and resolve employee relations issues in accordance with company policies and procedures. Includes other HR staff as needed.
  • Manages exit interview software program. Analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement to CHRO.

Performance Management:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management software, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Manages all evaluation processes (90-day, annual, etc.) and ensures timely completion.

Leave Management:

  • Oversight for Samaritan Healthcare leave of absence programs (FMLA, PFML, Light Duty, etc.) including enrollment, eligibility, monitoring and compliance.
  • Works with leadership to ensure hours are recorded accurately in the timekeeping system.
  • Reviews system daily for variances.

HR Administration/Benefits:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Develops and streamlines processes and monthly audits for data integrity entered into HRIS.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries. Ensures HRIS is updated.
  • Processes all terminations of employees and temporary labor weekly.
  • Maintain HRIS and HR related systems. Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making.
  • Handles all aspects of compensation. Reviews compensation adjustments for accuracy. Processes PARs and enters in all compensation adjusts into the system. Reviews dates for next compensation adjustment. Works closely with payroll on all compensation related items.
  • Keeps salary grades updated in HR system for accuracy and wage transparency.
  • Compiles data for HR scorecard on a monthly basis. Ensures data accuracy through data validation with accounting and other parties.

Compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to employment practices.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education :
    • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration or similar.
  • Experience :
    • Three (3) years of total HR experience preferred. Two (2) years of HR Assistant and/or Generalist level experience preferred.
  • Skills :
    • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
    • Effective interpersonal relationship skills (listening and communication skills).
    • Ability to communicate effectively in variety of settings and with a wide variety of people and different organization levels.
    • Ability to develop effective relationships with various stakeholders.
    • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
    • Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation.
    • Ability to develop and implement plans for program/department operations.
    • Ability to properly operate all equipment required for this position.
    • Knowledge of administration principles and the ability to apply them in a changing healthcare environment.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm.
