Performs a variety of supervisory functions related to storeroom and mailroom as directed by Director, Materials Management. Supervises Materials Management Clerks within Samaritan and Samaritan Keep Home. Supervises the receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies used within Samaritan’s main inventory, disaster inventory, department inventories, and Samaritan Keep Home inventory. Follows established standard work, policies, and procedures for inventory management, requisitioning, recalls, and tissue management using multiple automated databases. Monitors, rotates, and removes all outdated and overstocked materials and adjusts automated par levels accordingly.Communicates with Purchasing, inventory coordinators, and department leaders when stocked items are critically low. Assists in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy of patient charges through the efficient labeling/identification of chargeable supplies. Conducts user level training internally and to customers on inventory related tasks.Conducts cyclic inventories and analyzes trends for loss, expired, or destroyed goods. Supervises receipt of supplies to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of product delivery. Supervises mail room to ensure timely processing of mail and packages. Maximizes use of 3^rd party shipment software to minimize cost. Ensures the timely processing of all overnight, “stat,” and temperature sensitive orders. Collaborates works with inventory coordinators to resolve receiving problems. Acts as a liaison between Purchasing and customers to resolve inventory problems. Assumes responsibility for the timely return of mis shipments, damaged goods, and COD shipments. Supervises equipment cleaning, parring activities, and product cart cleaning and restock functions. Improves the daily operations of the Storeroom by modernizing paper-based procedures through the utilization of software, computer-based tools, or automated processes. Assists with value-based initiatives and inventory reduction. Assists with established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, and complies with codes and requirements.
