Compensation
$91,912- $117,429
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist the Assistant Deputy Chief Officer, Senior Director and Manager of Procurement Accountability Unit, Vendor Relations in:
  • Providing MTA Law Department assistance in research and collection of documents to support Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests.
  • Supporting both internal and external investigators and auditors in on-going investigations and audits by researching and providing Procurement contracts and documentation as required.
  • Assisting in FTA procurement compliance reviews.
  • Assisting in managing the MTA Independent Private Sector Inspector General (IPSIG) Program.
  • Assisting in the monthly update and publication of the Vendor Information Transit Advisory List (VITAL) Report.
  • Planning and coordinating interventions (responsibility hearings) and related tasks to assist MTA in determining vendor integrity and responsibility; and
  • Maintaining internal vendor databases, including sensitive vendor files, as required.
Education and Experience
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in economics, business administration, public administration, or a related field and four years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of procurement and database organization; or
A satisfactory equivalent of training and experience.
Desired Skills
  • Excellent communications as well as strong writing skills are required.
  • A working knowledge of public databases, i.e. Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and D&B Hoovers is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly proficiency with Microsoft Access.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting research using various tools, including the Internet is desired.
  • Ability to independently research various business topics and condense results into summary reports is desirable.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills are required.
