Samaritan Health is Hiring a Cook Near Center, NY

Pay Range:

Days: $15.97 - $17.63 

Evenings: $17.07 - $18.73 

Nights: $17.47 – $19.13 

All evening and night shifts include shift differentials. 

The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts. 

· Formal education in food service supervision or cooking preferred. 

· Must be able to operate a variety of kitchen equipment.

· Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles of nutrition. 

· Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

First Cook

· Minimum of five years of experience in hospital food service with progressive responsibility. 

· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. 

· Ability to independently take initiative and exercise good judgment in decision making. 

· Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handle multiple projects. 

· Professional maturity that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position. 

· High degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality. 

· Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Ability to work under stress. 

· Serve Safe certification within one year of hire. 

· HACCP certification within one year of hire.

Minimum Education Requirement - 

High school level of knowledge preferred.
