Salute Mission Critical is Hiring a Data Center Engineer Near Prairie, MN

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Engineer to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Salary: $68,500k-$77,000k/yr

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Data Center Engineer:

Staff/Skills – Strong Mechanical and Electrical aptitude to support facility management of Data Centers. Computer literate, professional demeanor (talking with customers), professional.

Previous data center field engineer and/or O&M engineers highly desirable. Data Center knowledge of electrical distribution, mechanical systems, stand-by generation, and alarm interpretation from the critical environment.

Services – Interpret alerts/alarms from the facility, determine course of action via the playbook or Regional Director. Schedule preventative/ corrective maintenance and warranty work to subcontractors through Monitoring Systems Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Administer Monitoring Systems ticket management, creating/updating/completing work tasks according to specific work procedures. Administer and manage Change Control processes through Monitoring Systems. Preventing SLA violations. Overlapping shift coverage. Process customer requests for logistics and Remote Hand requests such as test and turn up (activation) of new circuits. Troubleshooting customer equipment comprised of routers, switchers, servers, cables, and connectors. Schedule subcontractors as required to complete work tasks. Manage Monitoring Systems ticket status for customer and internal purposes such as Remote Hands time entries. Upload various Field Services Reports from preventative maintenance and Remote Hands contractors into Monitoring Systems.

The ideal candidate will be highly effective in a client-facing role, protecting and promoting the interest of Salute Mission Critical and their clients in all matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work independently, providing on-site project management support for client data center
  • Act as the contact and counsel to senior management at client sites
  • Exhibit leadership characteristics including strong communication skills, a full understanding of internal policies and group and individual management

Qualifications:

  • Data Center Technical knowledge is strongly desirable.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
  • The role is a full-time position.
