Job Description

Endoscopy Technician - PRN or Part-Time

Performs various patient care activities under the supervision of a physician and nurse. Assists physicians and nurses with endoscopy procedures and daily functions of the department. Ensures that all equipment is clean and functioning properly. Prepares room for procedures. Stocks department, tracks supply inventory. Reprocesses endoscopes and maintains detailed tracking records for high-level disinfection of semi-critical medical devices. Approaches their tasks in a team-based fashion that supports patients and their families.

We offer:

• The starting wage range for working PRN is $23.10 to $29.70 per hour
• The starting wage range for working Part-Time is $21 to $27 per hour

Work Schedule:

• Part-Time is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 am to 4 pm.

or

• PRN - as needed
• The Endo Suite is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 am to 4 pm. This position would cover when an employee is out sick, on vacation, or on leave.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Graduate or GED required
• Certification as LPN, MA, EMT, or CNA is preferred
• IV certification preferred

Experience:

• At least one year of related experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred

Availability:

• To maintain active PRN status, the employee must work one shift every 4 months

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to establish effective, trusting working relationships with patients to improve coordination of patient care and reduce barriers
• Must work well with the other patient care team members
• Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
• Excellent organizational, tracking, and documentation skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills in Word and Excel programs, ability to use electronic health record systems and Olympus endoscopy tower
