Salt Lake Community College is Hiring a Seasonal Groundskeeper Near Salt Lake, UT
This is a SEASONAL ONLY, employment will end by October 2024. Positions available at multiple campuses.
This is a Seasonal position, and employees can work up to 40 hours per week between the months of April to October. If you would like to work more months, please apply to the Groundskeeper IV – Part Time.
This position is essential to Salt Lake Community College to maintain the grounds and ensure they are clean, safe, and well kept.
Essential Responsibilities and DutiesThis position is essential to Salt Lake Community College to maintain the grounds and ensure they are clean, safe, and well kept.
- Working outside in various areas on SLCC grounds including: Lawn mowing, edging, trimming, irrigation tasks, tree maintenance, pruning, trash pickup and garden maintenance.
- Ability to follow instructions, operate power equipment, & use hand tools.
- Prepared to be working outside in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
Must be willing to work hard, follow supervisor instructions, follow safety rules and work well with others.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience will be considered when determining starting pay.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Able to do moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Physical activity involves bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing etc.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform manual labor i.e., weed pulling, pruning, turf mowing tasks, operate equipment safely (training provided), trash pickup, assist with irrigation repairs (heads, valves, pipe).
- Must take required SLCC trainings and safety trainings offered at SLCC.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
