Position: Full Time Accountant
Department: Accounting
Shift: Days
PURPOSE
The Accountant position has a variety of routine and non-routine functions that are performed daily, weekly, monthly and annually. This includes journal entry and schedule preparation and monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet and income statement accounts. The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant position is to prepare and process journal entries as part of month-end and year-end close as well as prepare various internal/external documents/reports. To provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounts utilizing transactional data and information that is available to prepare analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (BSBA w/major in Accounting)
- Four years of general ledger accounting experience is required w/computerized Accounting System.
- Hospital experience is preferred.
- Broad knowledge related to personal computer (PC), operate a 10 key calculator.
- Above average understanding & experience of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Ability to be a self-starter and follow through on assignments with minimal instruction/direction.
- Must have the ability to investigate and research transactions that are at issue and bring to resolution.
- Must have the ability to work with others from staff to management level.
- Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to understand transactions to ensure proper recording as well as the ability to identify errors and correct.
