Your Role With Us:

• Performs minor repairs to various hospital equipment and a variety of miscellaneous repairs, installations and modifications as required.
• Completes assigned maintenance and/or operational activities in accordance with manufacturer, industry and hospital standards as scheduled, and assigned, with limited supervision.
• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment in a timely manner.
• Assists in training other Maintenance Technicians and other staff as requested.
• Completes maintenance and operational records and documentation as prescribed and requested.
• Constructively participates in department committees and decision-making activities.
• Keeps work areas clean and safe, and picks up debris at work sites.

Background/Expertise:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required
• Minimum one (1) year of building and equipment maintenance or equivalent experience required.
• Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and maintain authorization according to Salem Health’s Fleet Safety Program policy
• Must periodically demonstrate knowledge and skill in hospital safety policies and emergency startup/shutdown procedures.
• Must be knowledgeable in the safe and proper use and operation of general maintenance equipment, power tools, and hand tools. Must have strong mechanical skills and dexterity.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics as required; Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Must have good interpersonal communication skills; Must be able to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to read operation and maintenance manuals; Must be able to write legibly.
• Ability to update work orders on computerized maintenance program, including entering hours worked and supplies used.
