Under the supervision of Management staff and responsible for providing direct therapeutic services for the residents of the program. These services are include but are not limited to crisis intervention, medication management, training in activities of daily living. Responsible for maintaining the physical environment.
Monitors common areas to ensure safety in/outside the building. Ensures inside doorways, stairs and floors are cleared of any obstructions. Outside of building removes debris/snow to allow building access for tenant/staff/emergency personnel. Provides crisis intervention as necessary and reports issues to management. Contacts EMS/FDNY/NYPD during emergency. Demonstrates understanding of emergency policy and procedures. Writes unit log entries and clearly documents activity. Provides problem solving intervention to tenants on an "as needed" basis. Assists in overseeing activities of daily living, food preparation for meals, proper hygiene, chores, etc. Maintains all electronic case records or other required written documentation. Conducts fire drills as assigned. Demonstrates a clear understanding of Medication Management with proper supervision and documentation. Counts all medication at change of shift, completed medication disposal forms, low medication sheets, etc. Communicates any issues to managers immediately. Orders refills. Contacts prescribers as needed.
Provides coverage to the program 24/7 as needed
Completes and ensures medical consultations are provided to clients prior to medical appointments
Schedules all needed client medical appointments, including transportation arrangements
Maintains CPR certification
Demonstrates basic computer skills
Attends trainings as needed
Trains new employees when assigned
Maintains cleanliness of residence
Basic writing skills are required. Experience in mental health, substance abuse or residential setting.
Physical demands include walking up and downstairs while carrying items, snow removal, restocking supplies, sweeping and mopping, cooking and cleaning duties.
High School Diploma required. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
Valid Drivers license required
