Sagent is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Intern Near Coppell, TX

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are offering an exciting internship opportunity for a passionate and driven Electrical Engineering student to gain hands-on experience in wireless device testing and repair. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced engineering team to test, troubleshoot, and repair wireless communication devices. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing failure mode analysis (FMA) to identify and address issues. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Testing Procedures: Assist in developing and executing testing procedures for wireless devices, including Radio Access Network (RAN) radios, Point-to-Point Microwave Radios, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) devices.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose hardware and software issues in wireless devices through logical analysis troubleshooting method
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on wireless devices, including component replacement, soldering, and firmware updates. Soldering skills are not required but training can be provided upon request.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test results and compile data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement for repair efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, repair activities, and test results for reference and future analysis.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-function teams, including test development engineers, test operators/repair technicians, and IS team, to address complex technical challenges and achieve project goals.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s and master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, signal processing, and electromagnetic theory
  • Familiarity with wireless communication technologies, such as LTE, 5G and WI-FI
  • Hand-on experience with electronic testing equipment, including multimeters, spectrum analyzer and signal generators.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues in electronic devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
