Essential Job Functions:

• Teach Lower School Introduction to Computers (quarter classes; curriculum covers storage, hardware, software, applications, and an introduction to programming)
• Teach Middle School Coding
• Teach AP Computer Science Principles and/or AP Computer Science A
• Implement best teaching practices to foster the learning of all students
• Create interactive and engaging lessons, which include opportunities for hands-on activities
• Foster the development of lab skills including measurement, graphing, and designing experiments
• Advise a group of students (advisory): Monitor and support the social-emotional well-being of students, Act as point person for parents of each student, Facilitate student-led-conferences

Additional duties and responsibilities:

• Supervise students on an Outdoor Education Trip
• Teach Sage Session classes
• Complete weekly campus supervision duties
• Supervise lunch and clean up duties 2-3 times per year
• Chaperone one after school student government event per semester
• Attend weekly faculty meetings
• Maintain up-to-date gradebooks, homework calendars, and parent communication
• Possess strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Blackbaud, etc.
• Support the School's mission and model the School's pillars: Scholarship, Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Community
• Attend Back to School Night and other school functions that occur outside of school hours
• Be a proponent of the school in interactions with the public

Job Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent coursework and three years of full-time teaching or a Master's degree and one year of full-time teaching. Excellent rapport with this age group is required.

Desirable: Advanced degree in Education and/or Teaching, independent school experience, and three or more years of teaching experience.
