This opportunity is in the Human Resources Department.

The Human Resources department is responsible for key areas typically associated with HR, such as talent acquisition, learning and development, payroll, employment law compliance, and performance management. Role Description:

In the role of Payroll Analyst you will be part of our HR Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll team. You will work closely with the Director, Payroll Services, AVP, Compensation and Benefits, and senior leaders in our Finance department to prepare and process payroll for our 750 employee workforce, located primarily in our St. Louis Corporate office and in regional offices and other remote locations across the United States. By ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, you will demonstrate Safety National's vision to make our employees a top priority through a positive employment experience.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Payroll Analyst will include preparing to process our bi-weekly and off cycle payroll by reviewing time cards for accuracy, paid time off (PTO) usage, and benefit deductions. Once you have completed our documented payroll processes and you are confident that the payroll is accurate, you will then send to other payroll and finance leaders for review, approval, and execution.

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong attention to detail, possesses time management skills including the ability plan ahead and hit deadlines, and is process driven. Essentials skills you will need in this role are, intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and exceptional customer service skills. Prior experience with an enterprise level payroll and time and attendance system is required. UKG's experience with Workforce Management is strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A bachelors in business administration, human resources, or a related field is preferred or equivalent work experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience preparing and processing payroll
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, vlookups, and writing moderately complex formulas
  • Prior experience with an enterprise payroll and time and attendance systems
  • Prior experience preparing payroll reports and documentation to management and auditors
  • Prior experience preparing accurate quarterly and annual tax report filings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience preparing and processing payroll
  • Prior experience with the HRIS software system, UKG Pro
  • Prior experience with UKG's payroll processing module, Workforce Management
  • Payroll certifications FCP, CPP or similar

In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target salary range for this position is $59,000 to $89,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
