Job Summary
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Underwriting Manager, supports the interests of the company by researching policy information, verifying policy accuracy and assisting underwriters.
Duties
- Reviews reports using both internal and external systems. Obtains data and refers information to underwriters for review
- Logs data into spreadsheets
- Provides support to underwriting staff by faxing/emailing information to agencies for review and sorting documents
- Files documentation
- Works on special projects to support underwriting staff
- Perform other underwriting functions and duties as assigned by underwriting manager
- Ability to navigate and extract data from various computerized systems
- Computer aptitude, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to take direction, follow through on tasks and work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to commit to a minimum of a 10-week period
- Students pursuing a Bachelors Degree in good academic standing, with a GPA of 2.75 or above
