Summary: The Director of Education and Prevention plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the organization's efforts to prevent domestic violence, promote healthy relationships, and provide trauma-informed care through internal and external training initiatives. This position involves developing, implementing, and managing educational programs for both adults and youth, covering topics such as healthy relationships, trauma-informed care, domestic violence, sexual assault, and strangulation prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development and Management:
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive education and prevention program that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
    • Create curriculum, materials, and resources for training sessions on healthy relationships, trauma-informed care, domestic violence, sexual assault, and strangulation prevention, etc.
    • Ensure that programs are evidence-based and trauma-informed, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field.
  • Training Coordination:
    • Organize and facilitate internal training sessions for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders on relevant topics, fostering a culture of awareness and sensitivity.
    • Collaborate with external partners, such as schools, community organizations, and law enforcement agencies, to provide training to a wider audience, including adults and youth.
    • Customize training content to suit the needs and backgrounds of different target groups.
  • Outreach and Awareness:
    • Develop strategies to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence, healthy relationships, and trauma-informed care within the community.
    • Organize awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars, and youth advocacy conference to engage the public and promote prevention efforts.
    • Collaborate with media outlets and influencers to amplify the organization's message and reach a broader audience.
  • Evaluation and Reporting:
    • Establish performance tactics and metrics while regularly evaluating the impact and effectiveness of education and prevention programs.
    • Prepare reports and data analysis to demonstrate program outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage the budget for education and prevention programs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
    • Seek and secure funding opportunities, grants, and donations to support program sustainability and growth.
  • Supervision and Team Development:
    • Lead a team of educators, trainers, and program coordinators, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, education, public health).
  • Proven experience in program development, implementation, and management, preferably in the field of domestic violence or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of healthy relationship dynamics, poly-victimization including child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, vicarious trauma, trauma-informed care, domestic and sexual violence prevention, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Commitment to social justice and the mission of the organization.
