Safe Harbor Crisis Center strives to create a community where violence and abuse are not tolerated. Our prevention and intervention services can help empower each individual to reduce violence in Davis County.

  • Job Purpose:RSAs oversee the shelter facility in a manner that is consistent with Safe Harbor's mission, vision, policies, and procedures. This position provides basic services to domestic violence survivors and sexual assault victims and maintains the safety of the facility.Job Responsibilities
    • Support 24-hour hotline, responding to callers in crisis by providing information and resources and assessing eligibility for shelter services.
    • Assist with intake procedures including but not limited to advocacy, development of an on-going assessment safety plan, and coordinate supportive services as needed. 
    • Create a safe and welcoming environment for residents by greeting clients, responding to client request(s) for assistance or supplies needed from the office/storage areas, and ensuring clients are provided a high quality of emotional support.
    • Assure safety and well-being of clients in accordance with shelter procedures and resident responsibilities. 
    • Provide crisis intervention and conflict de-escalation and resolution to ensure physical and emotional safety of clients, staff, and volunteers. 
    • Conduct shelter resident checks which include checking door locks, windows, and blinds. Ensure residents have completed chores and the facility is clean and orderly.
    • Conduct security checks, which include setting alarms and monitoring security cameras.
    • Maintain and review required documentation for survivor files and communication logs.
    • Ensure cleanliness and order of the shelter, restocking interior storage as needed, do laundry to maintain linen supply, cleaning rooms of clients that have exited, keep entryway free of any clutter, and any other task needed to maintain order.
    • We believe teamwork leads to better quality services. RSAs should consult on-call staff in handling emergencies and issues related to children and adults living at the shelter, documenting appropriately and timely.
    • Maintain confidentiality of any identifying or individual information of clients in all aspects of the position. 
    • Ensure 24/7 coverage, Advocate will be on time for their scheduled shift and complete their entire shift without leaving the premises.
    • RSAs are required to cover shifts during holidays.
    • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.
