Safe Harbor Dental is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Chesapeake, VA

Well-established General Dental practice located in Grassfield in Chesapeake, Virginia is looking for a Dental Assistant to join their team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work alongside our experienced Dentist in our dynamic digital office. Our dedicated team is committed to providing exceptional care, and we believe in creating a workplace where both patients and staff feel valued.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and organization

- Assist dentist and hygienists during dental procedures, providing necessary instruments and materials

- Taking digital dental x-rays as directed by the dentist

- Perform basic laboratory duties such as taking digital scans with our CEREC Primescan, polishing and glazing crowns, and taking impressions for fabrication of bleaching trays

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions

- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories

- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following established protocols

- Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information.

Requirements:

- Experience with digital radiography and operating x-ray equipment

- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments

- Proficiency in using dental software, Dentrix preferred.

- Familiarity with taking vital signs and maintaining patient records

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
