Duties/Responsibilities
- Design electronic circuits for aviation computers and supporting systems such as test equipment and harnesses
- Create Statements of Work for contracted services such as board layout and manage the contractor throughout the project
- Evaluate design choices to meet product functional requirements, environmental compatibility, and manufacturing lifecycle, creating reports and other documentation supporting design choices
- Create test procedures and reports for electronic hardware
- Provide engineering insight to Program Management and Sales and Marketing for new business proposals and customer support
- Supporting manufacturing and repair departments for legacy products
- Utilize standard electrical laboratory equipment to verify, debug, and rework electronic circuits
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- 2 years plus experience with comparable responsibilities
- Digital design in the hundreds of MHz with ARM Cortex or similar complexity microcontrollers
- Basic analog circuit design
- Experience with design for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility for susceptibility and emissions
- Schematic Capture and PCB layout with Altium Designer
- Designing safety critical electrical systems
- Designing to RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-461G, and similar qualification standards
- Bare-metal embedded C to support software engineers in driver development
- Python, Excel, and similar analysis tools
- Subversion and similar version control tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school
