Program Materials, Supervisor

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Primary point of contact and works closely with, Production, Program Management, Purchasing and logistics as well as with raw materials suppliers to ensure that plans are aligned with demand and supply. Ensures an adequate supply of manufacturing materials for production and prototype programs. Also, provides analysis and insight into commodity buying and current industry trends. The Program Analyst applies their expertise in all areas pertaining to MPPL at TDM, to support the organization’s overall plan and strategies going forward.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to purchase order terms and conditions.
• Ensure an adequate supply without over-ordering and minimizing obsolescence. Monitor materials flow to identify bottlenecks, forecast potential problems and observe trends.
• Prepares Release manufacturing orders based on material requirements planning (MRP) and coordinate the flow of material throughout the production cycle.
• Assess vendor operations.
• Act as a liaison between manufacturing and other departments and receive project plans and additional information to determine timelines and necessary materials.
• Enter and monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM). Update Bill of Material, Sales Order, Job Order, and Item master information when a part revision / engineering change takes place. Confirm BOM / Tracker / Header timing and Spec is accurate. Update Tracker/Header/BOM with blank sizes upon receiving confirmation.
• Answer questions on various shipping and return issues. Coordinate overseas shipping for Ford Special Business Unit Projects. Set up transportation. Work with team to ensure adherence to dock calendar and window times.
• Determine vendor to order material from based on Spec, Availability, Timing, Costs, and Environmental, Social, and Governance factors. Provide alternative options to P/M team if exact material spec cannot be found.
• Collect material Certificates of Analysis for shipments of raw material into TDM.
• Verify quality concerns raised by the production or assembly teams. If quality control issue is present, work with vendor on delivery of replacement material.
• Monitor Production and Job order data daily to ensure accurate inventory backflush and on hand quantities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years relevant experience – Forecasting experience a plus
• Extensive knowledge of commodity sourcing and supply base
• Familiar with SAE, ASTM, and OEM material specifications
• Strong MS office skills including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Power point
• Experience in Ford IMS systems, CMMS, WERs, WIPs
• SAP, Covisint, and or Made to Manage experience a plus
• Must be familiar with Bills of Materials and Ford sheet 3 documents
• Ability to work under pressure and able to meet deadlines, at time with short notice
• A positive attitude and the ability to work with a team are critical
