SAFE Federal Credit Union is Hiring a MANAGEMENT TRAINEE Near Sumter, SC

SUMMARY:

The Management Trainee is a targeted 6-month program committed to cultivating and developing future credit union leaders. The program is designed to challenge and grow individuals through a series of core components including on-the-job training, in-class training, branch/back-office shadow training, formal leadership classes, online learning portals, and other avenues for learning. The position is in place for highly self-motivated individuals to gain knowledge and firsthand experience in branch management. The individual must demonstrate a willingness to learn, excellent member service, great communicator (both verbal and written), leadership capabilities and the ability to be flexible. A professional team attitude is also required, as well as travel to any and all SAFE Federal Credit Union locations and branches. for this position.

Upon completion of the Management Trainee Program, this individual is required to apply for and accept any offered Management Positions within an hour drive from their home address.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONDSIBILITIES:

  • Completes the management trainee training program, which includes Teller Training, Member Service Representative Training, Lending Training, In-Branch Sr. Teller Training, back-office shadow training, and In-Branch Management Training.
  • The SAFE Path to Leadership Training is required but only the prerequisite classes must be completed prior to completion of the trainee program.
  • Is able to operate as a Teller, Sr. Teller, MSR or loan officer and Branch Manager in a proficient manner.
  • Gains a solid understanding of the different products and services offered by SAFE Federal Credit Union.
  • Willingness and ability to embrace the importance of the sales and service culture within the branches and the Credit Union overall.
  • Brings a positive attitude of willingness to develop personal intellectual knowledge, managerial skills/knowledge and leadership skills.
  • The ability to create professional relationships with members and team members.
  • Promote and exemplify the SAFE Brand and culture.
  • Learns the various departments of the Credit Union and understands how they interconnect.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONDSIBILITES:

Presents a positive, professional image in person and by telephone to employees and members of the credit union as outlined in the SAFE Experience guidebook

Assists wherever needed if available.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Regulatory Requirements: Your position has specific procedures that must be followed to comply with Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Bank Secrecy/Patriot Act. You will receive annual training to keep you current on any changes to these policies/procedures to assure compliance. Failure to comply with procedures may cause termination of your position as well as possible monetary penalties from the federal regulatory agency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education (GED) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field from an accredited university highly preferred or 2 years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents that are essential to each department of the credit union. Actively communicate through reports and email in effective and efficient manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with and effectively count American money. Some accounting experience would be expected but not required. Position also requires the ability to calculate discounts, interest and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to help employees solve problems and resolve issues with members.

None.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and tools, such as laser printers, photocopiers, fax machines and calculators.
  • Knowledgeable in word processing software, Spreadsheet software, as well as other Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Demonstrate ability to complete tasks regardless of obstacles.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in areas or roles outside of normal job responsibilities.
  • Recognize and respond to unexpected situations and tight deadlines effectively and soundly. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing task priorities and work situations.
  • Ability to work closely with others in a team setting.
  • Express ideas and information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Annually complete and achieve passing scores on various SAFE FCU Policy, Procedure, Development and Enhancement Curriculum.
