The Department of Sociology, Criminology, and Criminal Justice at Sacred Heart University (SHU) seeks applicants for a Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor and founding Director of the PhD program in Organization Development and Change. This is a 12-month position, with a scheduled start of May 2024.A demonstrable commitment to program leadership, teaching (including successful chairing of doctoral dissertations), research, student advisement, and social justice is strongly preferred. Candidates must display an appreciation of interdisciplinary approaches to the discipline of organization development and change and have broad training in the liberal arts and social/behavioral sciences.While the area of expertise is open, the successful candidate will have the ability to teach a range of courses. Expertise or interest in teaching advanced research methodology courses is highly desired.RequirementsPh.D. in Organization Development and Change, or a related field. Academic credentials commensurate with appointment to the rank of assistant professor or in exceptional cases as associate professor. Demonstrated ability to teach doctoral level research methods courses (quantitative and/or qualitative).Successful new program development experience and experience in directing an academic program.Ability to actively promote a culture of inclusion and belonging and participate in developmental activities related to diversity, equity and inclusion that are consistent with "Stronger Together" as described in the Office for Inclusive Excellence's Mission and Vision statements.Application InstructionsQualified candidates should submit: 1) letter of interest, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) statement of teaching philosophy, 4) statement of research program, 5) examples of syllabi from courses taught, and 6) examples of student evaluations. Three current letters of recommendation will be required if selected for a screening interview.
