JOB LOCATION: Based out of Wilson, NC

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
With minimal direct supervision, the position will require the operation of a service truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 GVW on public streets and highways as well as construction sites to transport and deliver, including but not limited to, lubricants and fuels. Responsible for fueling and greasing of heavy equipment and vehicles. Must have valid North Carolina Driver's license. Must have and maintain an appropriate Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), as outlined in the Corporate Safety and Health Manual. Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.) Monitor fuels, oils, and lubricants that are being changed or added to equipment and vehicles. Record and submit amounts loaded, hauled, and dispensed.
2.) Use hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers and wrenches as well as pressure gauges. May use precision instruments and power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists to repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
3.) Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to move into position for servicing.
4.) Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
5.) Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Notify the shop foreman or superintendent of repairs beyond capabilities.
6.) Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, lubricating equipment and machinery and assist in changing tires.
7.) Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to determine pressure and fluid levels.
8.) Test equipment after service to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
9.) Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
10.)Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures.
11.)Must have proper Driver's License and comply with HazMat requirements.
12.)Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other
manager.
13.)Must have regular and predictable attendance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Must be a minimum of 21 years old
Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' work experience as a service/lube technician preferred but not required.
HEAVY PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). Any mechanic involved in tire changing activities may be required to lift heavier weights (over 140 pounds). PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Position requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required of the position. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
